ALMACO's revitalization project onboard Sovereign of the Seas

ALMACO completed extensive revitalization project onboard Royal Caribbean International's Sovereign of the of Seas in December 2004.

During the three week dry docking period, ALMACO compeleted the installation of 62 new balconies, refurbishment of 1200 cabins and complete refurbishment of 11 large suites. ALMACO also extended the existing spa by adding new treatment rooms and extending beauty salon and gym. In the ship's youth areas ALMACO executed a total refurbishment and reallocation of spaces.

Additionally, ALMACO built a new cabin area, 43 cabins in total, into existing cinema area. The cabin modules were assembled off-site and loaded into the cinema area through a cut-out on the hull. The execution method of the project was first of it's kind in a dry-dock setting.

In total, ALMACO shipped 111 containers from Europe. Part of project's logistics operation was to coordinate all travel related to the project. The installation team of the project consisted of 350 people that represented 11 different nationalities.
