ALMACO food handling systems serve Brittany Ferries' new RoPax
Brittany Ferries' new RoPax vessel nb 1357 will feature ALMACO Food Handling systems. ALMACO's turn-key delivery includes the design, supply and installation of Food Handling Areas and catering equipment. The main area on deck 7 consists of a galley area, which includes cold preparation, hot galley, scullery and bar as well as all service counters outside the section. In addition to this, ALMACO's turn-key delivery includes 3 provision stores; two cold stores and a dry store. The food handling section serves the ship's main restaurant, the officers' messroom and crew mess (approx. 200 seats combined). The wheelhouse pantry and engine room pantry are included in ALMACO's delivery.
The trailer RoPax is designed to carry OTR freight vehicles between France and England at a speed of 23 knots. The 165 m long and 26.8 m wide vessel has 2.2 kilometres of vehicle deck space and 120 cabins. ALMACO will start work on the vessel at the end of this year. The vessel will be delivered in autumn 2007.
