ALMACO renovates M/S Majesty of the Seas

ALMACO Group provides new Food Handling solutions and revitalizes all Cabins on the 1992-built Majesty of the Seas.

Royal Caribbean Cruises has contracted ALMACO to undertake a major cabin refurbishment and Windjammer conversion projects onboard the 74,000 gt Majesty of the Seas. Over the past 3 years, ALMACO has been closely involved in the revitalization of the two other ships in the Sovereign family; Monarch of the Seas and Sovereign of the Seas, and is now excited to be able to provide its expertise during the Majesty conversion.

ALMACO will provide and install all new Food Handling equipment for the brand-new Windjammer, Hamburger Restaurant, and Pizzeria. A prefabricated A60 module, which will serve the Hamburger Restaurant, will be transported onboard fully equipped with an oven, grill, deep-fat fryers, and linings, all of which are compliant with USPHS requirements. Modular construction, which significantly reduces onboard installation time, will also be utilized in the new Pizzeria. In the Windjammer area, the scope includes the fitting of new beverage stations, scrapping stations, and various cold and hot food islands. ALMACO's contract includes all hot-cold water supplies, grey water drainage piping, freon and chilled water lines, as well as the supply of a new local condensing unit to feed new cold counters on decks 11 and 12.

Additionally, all the Cabins onboard Majesty of the Seas will undergo an extensive refurbishment that will provide them with a new, fresh look. The bathrooms will be completely modernized. The ALMACO Modernization Management package encompasses design and engineering, project management, logistics, all HVAC and electrical work, and turnkey delivery. The revitalization work will start in Freeport Bahamas on January 12, 2007 and will be completed by early February.
