The project onboard M/S Journey begins in April. ALMACO will build 32 new minisuites in lieu of 48 standard cabins and 4 ADA cabins. The modifications will be made to integrate the ship into Celebrity Cruises' luxury standard. M/S Journey will also receive a cold room extension in order to increase the autonomy of the ship for longer cruises. Two new cold rooms are created from existing dry stores. In addition, two cold rooms and a lobby will be combined to form one larger cold room. Turn-key modifications include cold rooms, cooling plant, piping, electrical works, sprinklers and fire detection. ALMACO already had all the technical information of the cold areas as it has originally supplied all the cold rooms and the refrigeration machineries to the entire series of the 8 ships originally built for Renaissance Cruises.

The following month the modernization of M/S Zenith will take place in Freeport, Bahamas. ALMACO will install 27 new cabins onboard and 39 new balconies for the existing cabins. New superstructure will expand an existing lounge area, permitting installation of 25 new cabins of which 4 will be suites. Two cabins will be built to replace an existing kids' playroom. ALMACO will also modernize several public areas onboard. The scope includes technical and interior design for cabins and balconies, full turn-key material and installation, as well as the responsibility for producing a classification material package for Class approval.
