ALMACO's continued commitment to North American customers
ALMACO Group has a world-wide network of offices, suppliers and partners that allows a customized and cost-efficient delivery of projects to our customers all over the world. ALMACO started with a strong presence in North America and although is expanding into newer markets, the commitment to our North American customers remains untouched.
In North America, ALMACO is currently involved in the Pearl Seas Cruises' newbuilding project taking place in Halifax Shipyard Limited, Canada. ALMACO’s scope includes technical and interior design for the galley, the cold stores and the refrigeration machinery, full turnkey material and installation, as well as responsibility for all project management aspects. The project will be completed summer 2008.
ALMACO has a strong foothold with Royal Caribbean International, along with Carnival Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruises, among other American customers. During 2007, ALMACO has completed significant projects for Royal Caribbean International. During Majesty of the Seas’ dry dock, ALMACO built 30 cabins, the complete food handling system and equipment for the new Windjammer buffet restaurant, and refurbished 1100 cabins. Before summer, ALMACO completed the Zenith revitalization that involved 27 new cabins, 39 new balconies and a range of public areas. ALMACO recently completed a significant penthouse renewal project for Carnival Cruise Lines, that took place on Imagination and Inspiration, all within the dry dock period assigned.
ALMACO was also involved in newbuilding projects for Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), having provided cold stores and refrigeration machinery for the four recent NCL ships (Norwegian Jewel, Pride of Hawaii, Norwegian Pearl, and Norwegian Gem) built at Meyer Werft, Germany. ALMACO also has the same kind of projects for two other NCL newbuildings that are being built by Aker Yards France. ALMACO is responsible for designing, supplying and commissioning the complete provision stores and refrigeration system that will cool the provisions stores and the food handling equipment (counters and refrigerators) onboard Celebrity Cruises’ three newbuildings at Meyer Werft: Solstice, Equinox and Eclipse.
Within the North American market, ALMACO is also working to develop M2, a tool that will help shipowners maintain their ships as well as manage the newbuilding and refurbishment processes. M2 will combine Project Management and Maintenance Management, and will reduce the amount of work needed to search for necessary information between processes and departments. ALMACO is currently working on the Project Management module of this tool, M2, with one of our American customers. M2 will also include a Maintenance Management module, which will handle information and processes in all stages from the initial planning of the newbuilding until the end of the ship’s life cycle.
