ALMACO’s full turnkey Food Handling Systems capabilities featured in the latest M/S Sovereign delivery

ALMACO recently delivered a complete turnkey contract for Pullmantur’s Sovereign which included the complete stainless steel package, electrical modifications, piping and HVAC modifications, as well as full decoration of several bars & counters. ALMACO’s involvement in M/S Sovereign is yet another example of ALMACO’s strong collaboration with Pullmantur.

ALMACO scope of work included providing the entirely new bar San Marco replacing the previous Ben and Jerry’s ice cream and coffee shop on deck 5; creating a completely new bar on deck 8 for the discotheque on starboard side and upgrading the existing one on portside; as well as extending the pool bar grill in The Grill on deck 11 to include new hot and cold counters.

ALMACO’s participation in this project was full turnkey as we were involved starting at the design phase, where ALMACO carried out the design of the new bars, which included the decoration, directly with the ship owner, all the way through the delivery and commissioning of the areas.

ALMACO’s delivery took place during sailing, for the duration of 2 weeks, with a team of 12 men and 1 supervisor. Sovereign formerly belonged to Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and was recently transferred to Pullmantur. The ship is presently running 7-day cruises in the Mediterranean from Barcelona.

Pullmatur was founded in 1971 in Madrid, Spain as a tour operator with bus tours throughout Spain and Europe, and now consists of Pullmatur Cruises, Pullmantur Air, Caribbean Destination and Bus Tours. In November 2006, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd purchased Pullmatur S.A. and its affiliates.
