ALMACO’s First Delivery of a Complete Resort Hotel

Posted on May 23, 2014

ALMACO has been awarded the new construction contract by Resorts World Bimini to supply and install 269 pre-assembled Standard Rooms, 18 Garden Villa Suites and all Public Areas for the company’s Luxury Marina Hotel on the North Bimini Island in the Bahamas.

The project is a complete turnkey delivery that started with the conceptual and interior design of both the hotel rooms and public areas. The scope includes the prefabrication of all the Standard hotel rooms in an assembly hall close to the site and their final installation inside the building. ALMACO’s scope also comprises the supply and installation of 18 Garden Villa Suites, each of which incorporates a Standard room, allowing an increase in the hotel’s capacity and room availability. In addition, ALMACO will deliver all 5 floors of public areas such as the Reception Area, Restaurant, Piano Lounge, Banquet & Conference Rooms, Shops, Roof Terrace, Gym, Spa, Beauty Salon, Nightclub, VIP Lounge, among others. ALMACO will also deliver the kitchen and cold rooms as food handling areas supporting the Restaurant, the Banquet Bar, the Sushi and Noodle bar, and other areas. The delivery is expected by end of 2015.

This project capitalizes on the company’s vast experience in the marine world, where modular technology is a crucial element to success during extremely short conversion projects. Additionally, the sophisticated design and high-end quality elements from ALMACO’s architectural and engineering teams bring together the construction technologies and luxury required to build a project of this scale during the assigned timeframe.

This project has been a perfect example of how ALMACO’s Interior Design, Engineering and Purchasing departments can efficiently deliver a high-quality end product in a very tight time schedule, always keeping the customer in mind, who will receive a well-functioning and user-friendly hotel. When the actual design process started, all of ALMACO’s design decisions complemented the uniqueness of the Bimini Island, allowing people to admire the amazing nature, taking in the incredible colors of the sea, the sandy beaches and open skies. Also, ALMACO is intimately familiar with the maritime world so a maritime theme to the décor was incorporated to bring all of the elements together. This is the reason why the interiors have a contemporary look and feel, featuring soothing earth tones and incorporating natural elements and materials. The ambience of both the rooms and public areas is relaxed yet chic and it creates a perfect environment for a variety of settings.

Given the infrastructural needs of the North Bimini Island, ALMACO Group has brought to the island a complete set of accommodations and facilities to support the company’s operations onsite, including containerized accommodation spaces and food functions, power generation, and others. It is in remote environments like these that ALMACO’s mobile operations become an important added value to the customer.

Moreover, the island will offer a cruise ship pier that will accommodate the Bimini SuperFast ferry, which underwent a modernization of the public areas by ALMACO during June 2013.
