Posted on August 12, 2026

ALMACO Group has successfully completed the delivery of a refrigeration machinery system onboard Royal Caribbean Cruises’ new vessel, Legend of the Seas. The project was executed at MEYER TURKU shipyard and delivered in June 2026.

Scope of Work

Legend of the Seas is the latest addition to Royal Caribbean’s Icon-class, built at MEYER TURKU. ALMACO’s scope covered the full delivery of the ship’s refrigeration provision plant, including , engineering, supply of equipment, installation support, and commissioning.

The project builds on ALMACO’s extensive experience in delivering refrigeration solutions for vessels within the same class, ensuring reliable performance and integration with the ship’s overall hotel operations. The scope required close coordination with the shipyard and other system suppliers to ensure proper interface management and alignment with the vessel’s construction schedule.

Project Delivery

The project was carried out in close cooperation with Royal Caribbean Cruises and MEYER TURKU, requiring detailed planning and coordination throughout the different project phases.

Hugues del Torchio, Project Manager at ALMACO, comments:
“The project progressed through good coordination between all involved parties. A structured approach to engineering and execution, combined with a solution-oriented mindset during the later stages, helped ensure that commissioning and final delivery were completed according to plan.”

ALMACO is pleased to have contributed to the project and to continue its long-standing cooperation with Royal Caribbean Cruises and MEYER TURKU.
