ALMACO’s Refrigeration Machinery Onboard Star of the Seas

ALMACO has completed a comprehensive refrigeration machinery project onboard Royal Caribbean Cruises’ newest vessel, Star of the Seas. The project took place at MEYER TURKU shipyard and the work was completed in July 2025.

ALMACO’s Scope of Work on Star of the Seas

Star of the Seas is the sister ship to Icon of the Seas which also was built at MEYER TURKU. ALMACO delivered a refrigeration machinery project onboard Icon of the Seas and is happy to have contributed to this impressive new cruise ship in the Icon-Class. ALMACO completed the delivery of a comprehensive refrigeration machinery system onboard Star of the Seas at MEYER TURKU shipyard in July 2025. ALMACO’s scope of work consisted of the design, supply, and commissioning of the refrigeration plant onboard.

Continuing a Strong Partnership 

ALMACO is proud to have been a part of this project and to continue building on the long history of cooperation with both Royal Caribbean Cruises and MEYER TURKU. Samuel Teyssier, Project Manager at ALMACO, commented on the project: “The co-operation between ALMACO and MEYER Turku has been a success, and the equipment is of the highest quality.
