ALMACO Completes Successful Refrigeration PLC Upgrade for Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America
ALMACO is pleased to announce the successful completion of a Refrigeration PLC Upgrade project on Norwegian Cruise Line’s Pride of America. The project, which took place during the ship’s sailing in Hawaii in March, involved a complete revamping of 4 refrigeration units’ PLC with the latest technology.
Project Overview
ALMACO’s automation team spent two weeks onboard the Pride of America, working on replacing the main PLC as well as the remote inputs and outputs and restoring communication with the existing supervision system. The previous systems, which consisted of components from various manufacturers that are now obsolete, were replaced with a modern, integrated solution. This upgrade simplifies the architecture and the spare parts management while improving the plant’s reliability and serviceability and keeps the ship’s refrigeration system running worry-free.
